Martuwarra Fitzroy River: First they came for the land

ABC RN: The Martuwarra Fitzroy River is one of Australia’s biggest river systems and its waters are vital to the Aboriginal people who live along it.

It embodies their creation spirit, forms the spine of songlines, and still feeds the communities that live along it. The river has borne witness to ancient song cycles, colonisation, resistance, massacres and pastoralism.
