Sherika Brooking


A short film about the cultural and personal stories of young Aboriginal leaders from the Fitzroy region of Western Australia featuring Sherika Brooking, Bunaba Traditional Custodian. This story was filmed by Stephanie King, and forms one part of the Martuwarra Council’s ‘Youth Film Project’ managed by Gooniyandi and Bunuba Traditional Custodian, Hozaus Claire.

“I grew up along this River, you know ... I got taught a lot of things, especially by my Grandmother ... It's just special because our generations have been fishing, camping along this River. It’s special to me because I love catching Barramundi and the fish is good eating ... it's just beautiful ... it's really special.”
