Dr Anne Poelina, Chair of the MFRC, has been appointed as an Associate Commissioner with the Australian Productivity Commission.
In January 2024 the Australian Productivity Commission appointed the Chair of the MFRC, Dr Anne Poelina, as an Associate Commissioner. The Productivity Commission is the Australian Government's independent research and advisory body on a range of economic, social and environmental issues affecting the welfare of Australians.
Dr Poelina has been appointed to focus on the National Water Reform Inquiry 2024. The National Water Reform Inquiry is Australia's blueprint for national water reform. It aims to outline a clear framework and set of operating principles to underpin the sustainable management of national water resources.
The appointment of Dr Poelina is a fantastic outcome in providing a powerful voice from Country, not just on behalf of Martuwarra, but for the wellbeing and protection of all Australian waterways and those who depend on them across the nation. Dr Poelina has already made important contributions and had a significant influence on what is being considered and valued within the Inquiry.
